China now has a trending dressing style called “Lolita dress”. Lolita fashion is a subculture from Japan that is influenced by Victorian clothing and styles from the Rococo period. These types of clothing are growing increasingly popular among young Chinese who want to show off distinctive self-images. According to forecasts from iiMedia Research, Lolita dress sales are expected to reach 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) in 2021.
